Don't waste your money. *by C***C on Reviewed in the United States on August 5, 2016* To get them to work you must shake them, then press gently on the tip to get the chalk to flow down (very normal procedure for paint pens)... These have weak tips that are destroyed by this process. Then, the writing comes out uneven. These pens also won't work after one use. I followed directions and capped them... But the next day they were "dried out" in the tips and no chalk would flow down. We use Chalk Ink at work, because that's what my company supplies, but I find them to be rather gloppy, the ink is somewhat difficult to control, and they dry out quickly. As a few people have mentioned, it takes a few moments to get them started, but I expected that and it's clearly mentioned in the instructions. I wish my company would make a change.
