Small bag and I believe it's aluminum and plastic; I'd transfer it to glass since it's probably absorbent which the plants then absorb and may emit, according to some articles. In any case aesthetically, it's aesthetically beautiful especially with contrasting colored plants like pink or white. It helped with keeping plants warm but not making the soil heavy. What I'm unclear about is of it should go on top or bottom of terrariums. Opinions are contrary. On top of regular plants they looked gorgeous and seemed to make most plants happy.
