Review: Large capacity, good build quality! - I bought this to keep my various electronic gadgets (phone, camera, ipod etc) going on various camping trips I have planned over the summer, where I'll be without electricity for a fair amount of time. Suffice to say, I'm very pleased with what I received. Price when reviewed: £23. CAPACITY and CHARGING The main feature that stands out with this product is its capacity. At 20000mAhs, its enough to fully charge most smart phones at least half a dozen times, if not more, which is far more than other battery packs I could find for a similar price (£23). When I tried it myself, I was able to charge my power hungry Samsung Galaxy S3 Mini every day for well over a week, so I'm confident that it won't run out whilst I'm out camping. Devices charged from this do so surprisingly quickly, in some cases just as fast as when I was charging from the mains (their fast charging technology (PowerIQ) obviously does the trick)! The device itself however takes about 10 hours to charge via USB using a standard microUSB to USB cable (which is supplied), which admittedly is quite a while, but worth it considering how much charge this product can hold. A series of four blue LEDs show how 'full' the charger is, and can be activated by pressing a button on the side of the product. These are permanently on when charging however, which can be distracting if charging devices when trying to get to sleep as they are quite bright! BUILD QUALITY This charger has a really good build quality, and feels very solid and sturdy, far from the cheap plasticy feel than other battery packs at around this price range. I'm very glad about this as, due to their portable nature, is likely to get bashed around quite a bit, so having a strong device like this is very important. Furthermore, being from a reputable brand like Anker, you know the electronics will be of good quality, and very unlikely to fail and catch fire, which some cheap chargers have a habit of doing! It is quite bulky however and a tad on the heavy side (at 350g), though this is to be expected for a large capacity model. EXTRAS Along with the device itself, the product came with a neat drawstring fabric bag to hold it in (see picture attached - useful for when going on long journeys as you can store all your charging cables in this), along with a microUSB to USB cable which can be used to charge the device itself, or charge compatible devices from the battery pack. Overall a very good product, especially at the price I got it for £23: Would highly recommend.
Review: Simplly the best - The best portable charger ever. Comes in a nicely packaged with a USB Charger and a carry case which is also good quality. Working better than stated. Charges extremely fast and lasts for many charges. I charge my Samsung S7 edge, along with my iPad and my e cigarette while out and about. And it still has lots of charge left in it. It charges my Samsung S7 Edge from 0% to full within an hour and 10 mins, unbelievably fast. The build quality is brilliant. Solid and durable, designed to take a few niks and bangs. You realise the quality of this power bank when holding it in your hand and feel the weight of it. The customer service is fantastic and beats any other company hands down. I would recommend Anker to everyone. If you want quality at a great price then look no further you will not no be disappointed. If you have any problem Anker will sort it out for you in no time. Anker is extremely customer focused and is all about 100% customer satisfaction. I had a problem with my first charger and within a couple of Emails to and from Sharon in the customer care team, it was all sorted without any fuss or stress. This charger will charge your gadgets, iPads, phones, laptops and much more with ease and extremely fast as well. I am shocked at how fast it charges my gadgets. It's the real deal do not waste money on flimsy portable chargers which will probably give you half a charge. I've learned the hard way after buying many cheap power banks in the past and i am glad i finally have a charger that meets my needs and more. Anker = No1 ...

## Questions & Answers

**Q: Can you charge the PowerCore whilst its charging other devices?**
A: No you cannot. Don,t know why some people say they can, probably they just assumed that, whithout actually trying. Because of some wrong answers, I thought that myself and I actually bought the device because of that. So please people, answer correctly and stop misguide buyers.

**Q: how long does the anker powercore 20100 take to charge**
A: According to anker .... 10 hours to charge on a 2amp charger or 20 hours on a standard 1amp phone charger. That being said its usually faster than that.

**Q: Does it come with a charger?**
A: No charger supplied .It comes with a lead that can be plugged into a USB plug or into USB port on your computer.

**Q: It only charges my iPhone 5 2-3 times, is mine faulty?**
A: Remember that with any charging source capable of delivering enough amperage to charge a device in use, the internal battery on device charging basically becomes a power 'sink'. Roughly translated, because the draw under such a scenario draws a relatively high current from the battery, if you charge whilst device is in use so it's effectively topping up the battery charge, most of the delivered energy actually gets soaked up/used by the active demand of the device.
So, if you use the device with the powerbank attached, both the power demand and charge demand effectively sources from the input amperage available from the power bank.

It's the case on most devices you can charge without switching off to charge. If you turned off the device (aka powering off to a very low inactive state on most device lacking a physical power switch) on most non power switch enabled devices, you'll only be charging the device from the PB, where the input is only charging the battery effectively as the idle/sleep demand by the device is low enough to just draw from the battery and the battery becomes the higher demand rather than the device.

With devices that physically switch off and you charge in the true off state, you'll see the potentially number of available full charge cycles being about what the PB is rated for.

So in short - you'll never see the full amount of device recharge potential as rated for the PB whilst you are actively using the tethered device whilst it's charging - because your tether device is drawing from the battery as a sink, the battery gets charging current from the PB and because the overall demand is high, effectively the PB becomes the power supply for both device actively and the battery. You'll also notice, if device battery is low, the charge time increases because of the imbalance whilst the battery gets charged whilst acting as a sink.

But ultimately, any specification rating on such devices is a bit variable in practice as the PB is doing power regulation of the internal battery or batteries and output of the PB, and given the regulator board (probably a buck type converter) draws current and translation of source (PB's internal battery voltage) to the actual output voltage isn't 1:1, power is consumed by the power regulation process which (in most cases today) generates a pulse modulated square wave output of n-100% duty cycle depending on tethered demand. At 100% (effectively continuous output) duty cycle, more power is consumed from the PB's internal battery pack than the actual output power available to the device tethered.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ The Best Power Bank I Have Ever Used. 100% recommended
*by A***I on 5 October 2016*

This is pretty much a must have for anyone who is out and about for long periods of time and want to keep their phone juiced up. This battery does a great job of charging up my phone and charged it up a lot faster than the previous power bank that I owned. So the first thing I have to mention mainly because it will be the first thing that you'll see, is Anker's packaging. They have some of the best packaging out there that blowed me away when I bought my first product from this company (I think it was a micro USB cable). Their boxes are extremely easy to open, are very nicely laid out and have a distinct look that will instantly let you know that it is an Anker product. In my opinion their product packaging is top notch and is on par with Apple's. Overall the design of the power bank is great. It has only got one button which is used to show how much battery is left in the power bank, via the four LED lights on top of it, and unlike in other power banks that I have used this bank automatically starts charging my device as soon as it is connected. It doesn't require holding a button to power it on or anything like that, it is intelligent enough to do that automatically. As for the feel of the power bank, it is plastic but it definitely doesn't feel cheap at all, it actually feels really premium and well made. I have dropped this product a lot of times and even though it does make for a pretty loud bang it has never got any dents or anything from the drops, so is very durable. This product also includes a travel pouch which is actually really handy because it not only protects the battery back, but also lets me slip the supplied wire into the pouch with it so I won't have to go looking around for a wire when I want to use the portable battery. As for the quality of the pouch, the pouch itself feels great to hold and does provide quite a nice amount of padding for the power bank but my one gripe with it is that the plastic part that is used to tighten the bag (sorry forgot the name for it) isn't that strong and I have had the one on my previous power bank break on me (this is my second one because I thought I lost the first one, after I found it I gave it to my sister and she still uses it up until this day). What I mean by it broke is that the top thin part of the plastic snapped so it was still usable but it obviously wasn't as effective as my current one now which is still in a good condition at the moment. Definitely don't let this put you off though, as long as you look after the pouch as a whole it should last you a long time, and it is definitely not a cheap feeling pouch to say that it was supplied for free alongside the power bank. As for battery life, I haven't counted exactly how many times I was able to charge my phone without charging the power bank but this thing lasts for ages. As for my last charge I think my bank had been used two or so times before I charged my phone yesterday and I was able to charge my phone from being completely dead at 0% to 100% and the power bank is now on three bars (out of 4) so yeah I does last ages and I am sure that I could get around 6 or 7 charges out of it before it would need charging again. Also on the topic of the power LED lights they do actually show through the pouch so if you know where the button is you can check the power without having the take it out of the bag, and the bag closes from the top of the power bank so you can plug wires into the bank and close the bag around them. Overall I am very happy with this battery bank, I would definitely recommend it to anyone that asks for a battery pack and will definitely be buying again from Anker whenever I need another one of these or a wire or something like that. I have already bought one of these for my mum's birthday and my dad bought one for himself when he looking for a new power bank. Note: Anker didn't pay for me to review this product and didn't supply it to me for me, I paid for this product myself and am just a very happy customer.
