I was extremely impressed with the product I used the first time around. It was very nourishing for my beard and did not feel like almost every other beard shampoo out there either in its texture or the way it lathered nor how it left my beard feeling once dry. The delivery system was perfect, quick push with one finger and you have more than enough for your beard. The bottle lasted me so long that I began using it on my head and on my face, realised I preferred using this for my hair than any other shampoo I had used. All in all it last me around 3-4 months, using it 2 to 3 times a week.And then I waited what seemed like to be months for it to comeback into stock. Whenever I checked amazon, it wasnt available. Then I finally found it available to order, only now it came in different packaging and used a different bottle head. I was excited to finally get back to my now favourite shampoo. However I was very disappointed.Firstly, the delivery mechanism. I pumped and pumped and pumped and only managed to get enough to barely cover the tip of my finger. I unscrewed it to ensure nothing was blocking it like you find under the lid of a ketchup bottle. There was nothing. It was just poor quality.Then theres the actual shampoo. After I pumped the damn thing almost 40 times, I got just enough to cover the top of my index finger, I was so gutted. It was not the same product I bought the first time around. I wished they mentioned they had changed its ingredients. It had more of a fragrance to it which i dont mind at all. The first one didnt have a fragrance that was noticeable to me. The sheer effort of trying to use it put me off. Apart from that, it did not lather the way its previous version did so i found that you needed to use a lot more. Not only that it felt more like i was putting oil into my beard and not a shampoo. It did not leave that same nourishing feeling i had previously felt with its predecessor.Fortunately for me, amazon accepted a refund request which took a few weeks to process. If they went back to the previous formula and changed its delivery system, I would be more than happy to give these guys another go. I have only ever used bulldog beard wash (awful product that leaves beard dry) and mobro's beard soap (decent product bought with a oil and balm kit) but this stuff by spartan has blown me away after one wash! A nice subtle beard cleanser that doesn't lather up but provides beautiful and soft bearded results to your man mane. I used this product with spartan beard oil a couple hours before bed and woke up this morning to a beard still feeling reasonably soft.
