Product description Polycraft GP-3481F Silicone is a Condensation Cure Mould Making Rubber High strength silicone mould making rubber. Our silicone has been formulated for easy mixing by hand, with colour coded components (red or green) giving a visual aid to ensure mixing is adequate. The two components mix easily and because of the low viscosity most grades can be used without processing in a vacuum chamber. This silicone is suited for the detailed reproduction of figures, art objects and similar items. **Q: Is this product suitable to make a mould for "sugar glass" bottles ?**
A: Yes you can make the prop breakable sugar glass bottles - note its only for prop use and not for consumption

**Q: Would this be suitable for someone who is looking to make SFX flat moulds?**
A: I'm not sure what sort of FX you're talking about, but it is ideal for flat object casting - I use it for applique mouldings on Chinese boxes - it picks out the smallest detail and is pretty much infinitely re-usable. Very flexible, so it is easy to de-mould.

**Q: How much heat can this product withstand when set?**
A: This silicone shouldn't really be used for higher temperature applications. it will take up to 100°c without much issue however going over 150°c will cause the silicone to soften and degraded quite quickly.

**Q: I have an ornate plaster wall plaque that I'd like to make a mold of, so I can reproduce it in concrete for outside.  Would this product be suitable?**
A: Depending on many replicas you want to make it may be worth considering a PU rubber such as the 74-45 which would be more resistant to the concrete than the GP-3481

Good long working time, so plenty of time to get the mix homogeneous; very sticky, so you need to wipe the edge of your pouring container at the end of the pour. Bubbles rise freely and pop immediately, the mix is self-levelling so no smoothing required. I use plasticine as a barrier around the item I'm taking the mould from and spray furniture polish as a release agent, worked in with a soft brush. Works very well, demoulds easily and any spillage just rubs away, leaving no residue. Much easier to use than the vinyl rubber I've used in the past. I've cast small chess pieces and they pop out of the moulds very easily, despite having quite large undercuts, thanks to the great flexibility of the rubber.
