He'd never replaced a skin before but found it easy in fact more time was spent taking the old one off than fitting the new one. It's stayed tuned nicely and not slipped through two gigs and two open mic nights. It's very reactive with crisp sound. Amazing quality and sound for the price.

**Q: Is this for the top of the snare? Or is this for the bottom of the snare? Or will this fit both top and bottom?**
A: This head is designed for the snare (bottom) side. It cannot withstand being struck by sticks.Peace,

**Q: Does this have a prebuilt in colar, like a factory prestreatch to make it easier to fit on a drum**
A: Please forgive if I am not understanding your question correctly, but pretty much all drum heads (including Remo) have metal collars and yes, the drum head is shaped to where there is a "shoulder" that rests on the shell of your drum.  So your hoop applies the pressure to the metal collar and your shell pushes up from underneath on the premade shoulder.  As long as you get the dimension right, example: 14 inch head for 14 inch Tom, you are good.

**Q: Can I use it to get autographs on it from my favorite band breaking Benjamin**
A: If you want to use a drum head for autographs, a coated head would be a much better choice.

**Q: how do you measure to get the right size?**
A: Remove the drum head from the drum then use a tape measure to measure from 1 lug across to the opposite lug. Most drums are even numbered sizes except for the occasional odd size 13" or 15".
