Does it matter... Does this affect the amount absorbed etc ?** A: Google tells me that chelated means the substance (typically a metal) has its surface bonded to a protein (i.e. an amino-acid) so to your digestive system the substance appears more like proper food rather than a metal - this is supposed to improve absorption.
