They bloom 2 to 3 times per year. **Q: What is life span of an air plant?** A: Air plants can live for 2 to 5 years. Most produce pups and multiply. **Q: Why 30 minutes after watering my plants i notice a brownish color apearing on 3 of 5 is that normal ?** A: You don’t say how you’re watering, but I would advise letting a bowl of water stand for a few hours to let the chlorine off gas. Just like you do for fish. These plants seem to be sensitive to chlorine. Likewise if you live where there’s very hard water with lots of salts I’d use distilled water. Another tip: don’t mist them. They need to dry off in between watering. Soak them in a bowl or jar of cool (not cold or warm) water for a couple of hours every week or two. Then shake them off or gently pat them dry with a tea towel and put them back where they live (which should NOT be a humid, enclosed terrarium.) **Q: After i soak them what do i do?** A: Soak root for 5 min then turn upside down for 5 min.
