You also need to wash the item with mild detergent and, after doing this, avoid getting too many fingerprints on it before painting. Other than that, there is not a great deal to say about this product. It works well, giving a shiny and even black gloss finish, and is very good value for money here compared to other places I looked. It dries to the touch in 30 minutes and dries hard within 48 hours, and the can says you should paint extra layers within an hour or after 48 hours. If needed, it can be removed fairly easily by spraying the item with Fairy Power Spray, letting it soak for several hours and scrubbing using a brush of some sort (you may need to do this more than once).
