The problem with these bars is that the almond content isn't exceptionally high so the flavour is not immense. Crucially the chocolate is not very dark so will seem extra sweet. However if you have with coffee or tea this reduces the sweetness. This is reflected in the price, a lot of bang for your buck, if you can tolerate the medeocre. Personally I prefer to go for the good stuff being Neideregger, it costs a lot more but as an occasional treat I say live a little. They do all sorts of flavoured bars and sets of miniatures which make wonderful gifts. I hope this helps. I wouldn't make a gift out of it on any given day but for personal consumption, you can't go wrong. These thin marzipan bars are coated with a slim layer of dark chocolate that encases a very addictive marzipan filling. It's smooth and not overly grainy like some marzipan so it comes through very elegantly. The flavour is just right, not overly sweet or lacking in almond complexity. It's really quite a great tasting bar of marzipan that could give the higher end brands a run for their money if they improved on their packaging. I reckon any respectable fan of great marzipan will not be disappointed.
