Review: A familiar Hitchcock collection on Blu Ray - This collection of Hitchcock films has been anthologised before on DVD. The Blu-Ray packaging is very nice indeed. The discs are housed inside individual folders covered in each film's artwork. The folders are attached to a larger book-style insert. Pretty solid and very pretty to look at. The other attraction is the price - right now this fantastic set of 14 films is priced at £27.00, which qualifies it for free postage. It's well worth getting as a backup to the DVD version. If you haven't got any Hitchcock in your collection then this would be a great place to start. I'd also suggest ordering another 3 disc Blu Ray collection containing "Dial M For Murder", "North By Northwest" and "Strangers on a Train." Sadly, other Hitchcock classics have to be tracked down individually on Blu Ray. For the most part, the picture quality is first rate although "Family Plot", as with many films from the 70s, hasn't transferred as well to Blu Ray. But the others look stunning - "Rear Window" is particularly good. Each film is well supplemented with extras. A great purchase for cinema lovers or a great gift.
Review: Excellent Hitchcock collection ! - My first ever Hitchcock film (or collection) on any video format. Beautifully restored in both picture and sound. The films made in the 1940's are surprisingly good which enables you to really appreciate the photography and lighting and direction. The colours and clarity of the later colour films are outstanding and the scratchy soundtracks of old TV presentations are gone. I had not seen some of the later films before but well worth watching. The presentation book style box featuring original poster artwork is very neat and user friendly and you get 14 full length films for a very reasonable price !

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Genius
*by S***K on 23 August 2020*

Hitchcock’s work is ground breaking cinematic art. All the movies in this collection are excellent, even the later movies Topaz and Family plot are superb. The quality of the Blu Ray transfers are excellent: Marnie has some grain here and there, but this adds to the feel of the experience in a similar sense to classic black and white movie grain. I watched these movies three times as I worked through the collection: the first viewings had me on the edge of my seat; the second and third contributed to my admiration of the structure, plot, direction and acting. Totally superb. Each movie is accompanied by a documentary providing insight into the challenges involved in their production. At this price it’s a bit of a give away. Hitchcock’s work have staying power: one can experience them numerous times and enjoy their quality. Hitchcock was a genius. I got the box set with Dial M fur murder, North by Northwest and Strangers on a train and was similarly blown away.
