I do wear pierced earrings. Pierced ears for many years. I occasionally use Savlon if there is any sign of redness, or a bit sore, sometimes even smearing a small dot on the actual hook of the earring before I insert through the hole in the ear lobe. I always wear sterling silver through the pierced hole. Silver is known to have antibacterial properties. If you are intending to use Savlon for any new piercing wounds I would seek health professional advice. The NHS online may have a section about this. In my own experience the professional undertaking the piercing procedure gives routine advice for aftercare which should be followed.
