## Overview

The Manthorpe Felt Lap Vent G630 is a retrofit ventilation solution designed to combat loft condensation by providing 3,000mm² of airflow. It fits joist centres between 400mm and 600mm and features a tapered lead-in for easy installation between felt laps. Secured by three felt clips, it ensures stability even on degraded felt edges, making it an economical and effective choice for improving roof space ventilation and preventing moisture damage.

## Description

The Manthorpe Felt Lap Vent is a refurbishment product designed to increase the amount of ventilation into existing roof spaces. Usually fitted retrospectively to properties with additional loft insulation recently installed, however the Felt Lap Vent will help to combat the problem of condensation build up in any roof space with a lapped felt/membrane construction. The product has been designed as a remedial solution to help overcome the build-up of condensation in the roof space, however like all products that open the felt lap to provide ventilation it does not meet the code of practice BS 5534:2014+A2:2018 6.2.1.1. The specifier or user should be aware that the opening of felt laps on the roof may adversely affect the driving rain resistance of the slates, tiles or shingles, as well as increase the wind uplift forces acting on them.

Review: This is an economical product that can improve air flow and reduce condensation. - Loft in extension which was boarded and strengthened slowly developed condensation which has soaked the flooring and some items stored there, despite there being vents in the soffits. Installed six of these vents and the problem was solved after two weeks. Made use of the remaining four in my original loft space and there was an immediate improvement in air flow. Will keep monitoring the situation. They are a little flimsy but are easy to fit and need care to ensure you do not split the felt . You also need to ensure that the clips engage to prevent rolling and tearing the felt edge. An economical way to reduce potential significant problems.

Loft in extension which was boarded and strengthened slowly developed condensation which has soaked the flooring and some items stored there, despite there being vents in the soffits. Installed six of these vents and the problem was solved after two weeks. Made use of the remaining four in my original loft space and there was an immediate improvement in air flow. Well worth the money, easy to fit and works, If you have a roof with old roof felt, creates air flow into the loft space for no breathable felt.

Early days yet - but really do seem to be making a difference! Easy to fit. Not impressed by the 4% off offer as there were only 9 in the packet not the 10 as advertised! Does that make them 6% more expensive? Cannot therefore give 5 stars. UPDATE - very prompt reply and refund for missing item. Impressive customer service. Loft one week after fitting is now much dryer and improving by the day. Would highly recommend.
