I had lots of problems sterilising fresh water system on my motorhome and succeeding in damaging, destroying, my hot water boiler.After replacing the boiler I have only used Elsan fresh water tank clean, two years have passed and no problems, with boiler failures or tummy problems when camping. Hope this helps. **Q: Can this be used in the container outside the caravan and is it safe to go through the whole system, ie heater?** A: I use on a motorhome and in the correct dilutions it has to go through the hot water reservoir and pump, if you are referring to the 40litre container outside then I cannot see a problem. DO NOT put the cleaning concentration in with the heater on, just leave in for the recommended time for cleaning then flush through otherwise it could corrode the heater bits. It just says "periodically"** A: I use it pre season and the always ensure the water system is kept full.
