The steel's tensile strength, feels just below the Southy Max picks, taking quite a bit of rotational sideways stick, but bending only very little. If you've used Southord euro Slimlines, these are stronger, although they do have problems of finesse, when in tight keyways. Slightly cumbersome in shaft height and design compared to Max picks, but as I say, there's something very appealing about the way the handles feel in the hand. The handle alignment and messy spot welds let them down a bit, but I'm sure they'll get better with time, as did many of the established picks. While they can have problems where others get the core round in half the time, I figure every pick adds to your line-up, so they've won their place in my daily carry set. I'd buy this set 100 times again, spot on value and when custom trimmed and sanded, they rival any tool available to the skilled locksmith. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ 4.0 out of 5 stars ok for starters *by P***S on Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 7 January 2016* Bought these for my partner to practice picking locks instead of him using his home made ones. After one use, one of the picks sheared off in the lock. He wasn't heavy handed with it, just jiggling it around trying to locate the pins inside. I informed the company, and they kindly sent out a replacement. My other half reckons these are ok, but has said that if using for some considerable time, the handles are uncomfortable. He has tried picking an ABUS 65/50 padlock without any success. He said other picks with a better selection of tensioners and picks would be more suitable. Overall, a nice starter set 'to get the feel' of picking and comes in a nice carry wallet. ### ⭐⭐⭐ 3.0 out of 5 stars Interesting Equipment *by M***E on Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 2 November 2017* I tried the set on the offending lock without success. What bothered me was the metal of the picks and the lever especially were prone to bend quite easily. I did not think that I was placing undue pressure on the picks or lever. I realise that the instruments are finely made and probably are not meant for amateur lock pickers trying to avoid calling their professional locksmith.
