They are so easy to keep clean which I think is very hygienic. The lining inside is OK but I think over time will become thinner in places and could be improved by having a cloth lining sewn In over the top . They fit nicely and come with the added bonus of a cotton lining. I had a little trouble trying to order them so emailed the supplier who responded very quickly and sorted the problem out swiftly, top marks to them for that. I used to use those padded oven mitts that were joined together but they can be awkward to remove certain things from the oven where as these gloves being independent of each other you can even remove two items at once. I was a little apprehensive about these gloves as with the padded ones you can sometimes still feel some heat from the hot dishes if they have been in the oven a while but with these you don't feel anything. I would highly recommend these gloves to all the cooks out there. I like the fact you can use them to pick up hot food. But the inside goes a bit gross when you get them wet (which you probably shouldn't be doing anyway).
