Of course simply getting a new TV would be the most expedient solution but I don't do expedient.Overall, the quality is quite good. Colour reproduction is better than I would have expected and image quality is good enough for PAL. I didn't have any issues with sound.The first issue I have is with the "signal" dropping out intermittently. On composite video this took the form of a burst of static and on S-Video the screen would blank out momentarily. This happens I would say about every three minutes-ish and is about 1-2 seconds duration. Though non-optimal it doesn't ruin the viewing experience and for anybody used to ye olde terrestrial signal it shouldn't put you out too much. This happened on my own HD TV at home (via composite) and my mothers old Panasonic 28" CRT on both Composite and S-Video. Funnily enough it did not happen on another TV I tested on, a cheapo 15 y/o Silvercrest LCD telly (using S-Video) which leads me to suspect some macrovision-type copy-protection scheme is in effect, that only the more expensive TVs support.The other glitch I noted was that the device tends to lose sync with the Chromecast from time to time which causes a black screen (can still here sound), which is resolved by turning it off then on again ... this seems to only happen at start-up and doesn't interrupt the viewing experience.Overall I'm happy with the device and would recommend it, but would be contemplating picking up a more expensive equivalent at some stage to see if these issues can be resolved. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 5.0 out of 5 stars surprised at how good and smooth it looks *by J***Y on Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 5 September 2020* at first the box didnt work, but that was my own error in connecting the sockets on the old but gold crt tv i have.i acquired this for input lag free gaming, from a hdmi out on my pc to the box and then to the crt tv.there is now virtually no input lag, and due to the screen res being lower over a large distance, everythiing looks crisp as F***. i can now gain an advantage (obviously net speed an issue as well) over people who abuse cheap tactics in my games, and watching movies on it and other stuff is gonna be different but still amazing.viva CRT! ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 5.0 out of 5 stars It worked a treat *by I***E on Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 31 January 2020* I have a sd card camcorder with only composite and hdmi outputs.....Composite gives low quality video playback but HDMI has a higher resolution but how to get HDMI into a YC equipped recorder was my unsolvable problem - I bought the Vcando converter and the transfer of good quality picture and sound via HDMI output was made into the YC (Only) input of my (Very Old) Macro Casablanca DVD Video Editing suite and I must say the results are far better than I expected .....Not exactly HD but very usable.....I would consider this unit to be well worth the asking price and it's so easy to use.
