It's a great game at any count. The only difference for 2 players is that each player controls two pieces, which must both "finish" in order to win. In the 3 and 4 player games, each player only has one piece which needs to cross the finish line for the win. **Q: Is this the English edition as pictured?** A: I received the English Ed. Ich besaß zu dem Zeitpunkt nur die zweite Erweiterung. Als ich die Anleitung studierte stellte ich fest, dass man das Basisspiel benötigt. Theroretisch sollte es auch ohne das Basisspiel funktionieren allerdings wird sich das Spiel dann nicht mehr so flüssig Spielen. Gründe dafür sind: - Man hat nur das Startfeld vom Goldenen Tempel und somit wäre der Startpunkt gleichzeitig der Zielpunkt. Mit dem Basisspiel kann man schönere Strecken bauen. - Die Höhlenplättchen des Basisspiels würden fehlen, was das Höhlenforschen etwas unattraktiver macht, da man weniger Plättchen hat. - Der Kartensatz ist wesentlich geringer. - Die kleinen Karten Zwischenstücke fehlen, die das bauen von Karten flexibler machen. Zur Erweiterung und was ist neu: Die Erweiterung bringt frischen Wind in das Spiel, da man es jetzt mit Flüchen zu tun bekommt. Dieser Aspekt hat mich vorher etwas abgeschreckt, da ich dachte, dass die Flüche mit das Spiel etwas verderben. Meine Sorgen war aber unbegründet. Wer keine Lust auf Flüche hat kann diese auch fast komplett umgehen, außer bei Blockaden. Zusätzlich gibt es Höhlen Plättchen mit den man sich vor Flüchen schützen bzw. diese aufheben kann. Fluchfelder sind oft Abkürzungen und somit auch Taktisch nutzbar. Meine Freundin ist in diesem Aspekt knallhart und nimmt dafür Flüche oft in Kauf. Die Flüche an sich sind auch nicht so dramatisch und oft schnell überwunden. Weiterhin gibt vier Tiere, die in das Start Deck kommen und bei Bedarf mit einem stärkeren Boni abgeworfen werden können. Ziemlich cool sind auch die Helden. Jeder Spieler kann ich einen Helden in einem Lager auf der Karte einsacken. Dabei werden immer drei Karten vom verdeckten Stapel gezogen und ein Held kann gewählt werden. Es gibt natürlich unterschiedlich starke Helden doch bis auf wenige Ausnahmen sind diese sehr effektiv einsetzbar und der Umweg lohnt. Zu guter letzt kommen noch ein paar neue Spezialkarten (3) hinzu, die in den Markt integriert werden können. Der Geologe z.B ist sehr nützlich da er über Gebirge springen kann. Besonders gut gefällt mir das Spiel in Kombination mit der zweiten Erweiterung und dem Basisspiel.
