One of the great 1980s power-sniffs, and still available, at a reasonable price. Yes, it's been reformulated, and no -it's not quite as strong. But it's still the same scent, still quite potent, still has decent longevity, and is still in that classic black glass bottle. Basically an aromatic fougere, it's quite a complex offering, the initial thunderous green woods gradually backing down into a mix of spice, leather and lavendar. If you could encapsulate the [male] scent of the 1980s, positive and negative, then this is probably the scent. It's the one many love to hate -a big success on launch, then a fall from grace and now, gradually, regaining an audience, partly for nostalgia in some buyers, partly, for others, because it's actually still very good. YSL's even more potent Kouros has a similar effect (though different scent) but recently it's become insanely expensive, difficult to find and -frankly- a little too overpowering.
