The Esmartlock app allows one to open the lock using one's cell phone. Personally, I have never used the Esmartlock app. I simply use my fingerprint to open the lock. I love this lock. No combinations to remember. When I'm finished working out in the gym, I simply go to my locker, press my finger on the lock pad, and it opens. One thing you might try (to see if the lock is compatible) is to check the BTHome integration assistant for compatible devices. My GUESS is that since this lock uses bluetooth, a blue tooth integration device would work with it. But again, I don't know for 100% certainty. My profile setup was super easy, and also, so far none of my data has been stolen because I did not receive any warnings on any of my ID protection sites, fingerprint registration happened smoothly, and without issues, I chose to buy a smart lock with physical keys just incase there's a software malfunction, or the lock would be low on energy, yes you can unlock it via smartphone easy if you have your phone on all the time but you can also unlock it by fingerprint even if your phone is off. The lock itself is constructed well, it doesn't feel flimsy or cheap I've had it for a few months now as of writing this review, it's a good investment if you think being a key makes you feel that much more safe than just standard padlocks. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Sturdy lock- and Multiple options are a MUST! *by B***R on Reviewed in the United States on 20 March 2023* I tried a few other options before this one, and they all have the same malady- which I guess is true with every fingerprint sensing technology: When your hands get wet, or hot, or cold, it's harder to get a match. This lock is no different. It works fine on all registered fingers while "at rest", but after a workout, my hands are sweaty and hot, and it takes me a few tries on different fingers to open this. On my most recent past lock, I tried to a good five minutes and had resigned myself to getting bolt cutters somewhere. (Miraculously, the next attempt worked). These haven't frustrated me nearly that much yet, but if so, it's comforting to know that I can just pull my phone out of my pocket and open it with the app. And even if THAT fails, I keep the emergency physical key in my car- I can just go out to get that and get my locker open. All in all, it would be terrific if it just worked with the first fingerprint attempt every time, but I continue to have faith in this due to the multiple unlocking options. And this this is STURDY.
