They have a strong "new" smell to them when you first put them on. It's not a bad scent, but it got on my hands. It came off easily when I washed and the scent lasted about a day before fading on the controller. It was also pretty tricky when applying. There's no real guide to putting them on, even when you follow a video, you still have to trust your instincts on how to apply. The good thing is that you can easily peel and reapply as needed but it might not stick as firmly if you keep doing this as I feel like this was the case for me. The grips also feels very weird at first, very much like a bandaid feeling/texture. However, after a day, I either got used to it or it slightly wore down but the material feels much better now. My sister has her own controller that only she uses when we play couch co-op, and she said that it felt more like a car leather material instead of a bandaid and I also agree with that. It's just a very unique texture. I think the grips have been working good though as my hands feel more comfortable. My palms/inside of my hand would sometimes hurt after using the series x controller as I game a lot. They don't really hurt anymore and I feel like I can hold the controller for longer without feeling discomfort. Plus, it definitely feels more stable, it doesn't feel like my controller could slip. However, one of my complaints is that the grip doesn't completely cover the controller. It leaves the bottom open and I just wish that there was a design that could completely cover the bottom for more comfort. It especially felt weird at first since you feel both textures from the grip, and the controller at the same time and it took a while before I got used to feeling both. But my other complaint is that I wish there was more padding. It already feels great, definitely better than using no grip, but more padding would definitely feel more cushiony and comfortable.The thumbsticks feel so good too. I've been using the insignia thumbsticks and they're not bad, but I can easily feel the difference with kontrolfreek. The material feels a little better, the thumbsticks are firmly secured, and the motion feels more accurate. I was never into using thumbsticks for the controller but I heard that they help a lot. I thought it felt so weird when I first used them, but I was surprised by how quickly I got accustomed to them and I always use them to play now. Insignia isn't bad, but kontrolfreek definitely just feels better overall. I barely got into using controller grips, but I honestly really like them. I'm definitely gonna have to put these on my other controllers. Apparently you can even use them on the Xbox 360 controllers which would've made a world of a difference a decade ago for me.Edit: the slight hand pain/discomfort that I got from how heavy the series x controller is, has gone down dramatically. I rarely get any hand fatigue or pain anymore during/after playing. It makes me wish once again that they sold these more widely during the Xbox 360/PS3 days as I know I would've bought them back then. ### ⭐⭐⭐ Just get thumbsticks *by D***E on Reviewed in Canada on 21 November 2022* The thumbsticks are great but the controller grips don't adhere well and are peeling off.
