Now when u cut the tape it will pop open though. But not when u first take it out of the box. **Q: Is there an odor & are the materials considered all natural? Where is it made?** A: Upon unboxing and unwrapping this Zinus 8" Mattress, I heard a hissing whoosh sound yet smelled absolutely nothing. This is my third "bed in a box" since 2017 (the first two from a different company), and those mattresses emitted a weird gaseous odor for hours when initially unwrapped and decompressing. This new Zinus mattress has been on the bedframe all day and, when I return to the room it's in, there is still no odor. **Q: Nervous to buy a mattress in a box...do you highly recommend this mattress? Help please!!** A: I love these mattresses. It’s the 2nd one I’ve purchased for my home. I’ve also recommended Zinus to 2 other family members who also love them. I’ve smelled no weird odors with either mattress. **Q: Info says to open within 72 hours but we received as a gift before we move. We really don't have space for it right now. Can we wait a month or so?** A: I really don't know what to tell you. But, I didn't open mine within 72 hours. I think we did it in a week or 8 days. I didn't even know it said to open it within 72 hours. But here's what the company said: We recommend taking your mattress out immediately (why wait for wondrous sleep?). If you must, don’t wait longer than a week from the date the mattress was delivered. They didn't say why.
