I'll keep the original so I have extra keycaps just in case the letters wear off of these ones. The replacement is an annoying process, but not that hard. I took a small hand torch and applied upward pressure to the metal plate while melting the plastic rivets holding it on. The keyboard came out easily after that. The new keyboard popped in, and I headed a steel nail and melted the rivets flat again to hold everything in place. I then applied a little hot glue to some of them after that for additional support. It feels very sturdy. The keyboard isn't mushy at all. If you don't do a good job at this installation process, then the keyboard will flex and feel terrible. Just spend a little extra time and do it right. I know because the first time I put it together, I just popped things back onto the melted rivets and hoped for the best.
