The Rylai Vintage Wall Clock is a handcrafted solid linden wood cuckoo clock featuring a classic German design. It operates on two D batteries with a precise quartz movement, includes an animated cuckoo bird that flaps its wings and calls every hour, and has an automatic night shut-off via a built-in light sensor. Adjustable volume and easy assembly make it a perfect nostalgic yet functional centerpiece for modern living rooms.

## Description

Quartz cuckoo clocks are operated by batteries. They are not as authentic as mechanical cuckoo clocks, the "feeling" is quite different because they are using an animated cuckoo made of plastic and a recorded cuckoo sound. Nowadays more and more old fashion clocks are equipped with this kind of movement. Most batteries will last approximately 1 year depending on conditions. All are fitted with manual volume control and shut off switch. One thing that is unique about same quart cuckoos is that it has a photo-cell which is light sensor so you also have an automatic night shut-off When you turn your lights off at night, it automatically turns off the cuckoo call. During the call if cuckoo the double doors open and the cuckoo bird comes out, With same models the cuckoo bird actually flaps his wings as he cuckoos to the sound of running water in the background. I was in Austria over 55 years ago and bought a traditional Cuckoo clock that ran for many years and got too expensive to keep fixing. This is such a great replica and size of the model I had (still have, not working). It's almost an exact replica except free of maintenance and very easy to set up, and the price is great. It took me less than 10-15 minutes to put a nail in the right place, add the few parts needed to attach, add the batteries and done. It's really easy to adjust the cuckoo by just moving the hour hand. Instructions are included. Brown color is rich, and except for a couple of plastic parts, it's all carved wood. Easy to turn it from loud to off. I absolutely love it.
