Review: Works great, but fussy over type of USB port used - I was dealing with GPU noise from my NVIDIA RTX 3060 12GB when a game was running with both my iFi Zen Air DAC and also my Topping DX3 Pro+. The reason is because my headphone amp is a valve/tube amp so it must be earthed due to the very high voltages, and this meant there was a ground loop with the noise from my PC. I tried the usual tricks of putting everything on the same extension lead, which while it did reduce the noise, it did not eliminate it and that was problematic when using my Beyerdynamic DT990 Edition 600 Ohm headphones. So I went ahead and got this USB isolator since it supports USB 2.0 hi-speed (so it should actually handle above PCM768 @ 32-bit and DSD512/48 without issues, but I do not have a DAC capable of going higher to test). While it was working, and the computer noise was ENTIRELY eliminated, I was getting random and very often cutouts from the audio. Windows and Audirvana could still 'see' the DAC, just that the audio stream was getting cut off for some reason. This was plugged into one of the USB 3.0 ports (*just* 3.0, not Gen 1 or higher). I decided to try plugging it into a USB 2.0 port as I do know there can be compatibility issues with 3.0 ports, and I also shortened the cable to 1.5m. This totally fixed the issue I was having, and now I can easily send PCM768/DSD512 to the Topping without any dropouts of any kind. The iFi also handles DSD256 without any issue too. Even new motherboards released today have USB 2.0 ports specifically because 3.0 (and higher) can't always handle 2.0 devices correctly, and after reading the datasheet for the USB isolator chip they're using, it is very specifically for 1.0, 1.1 and 2.0, and requires incredible precision on the circuit layout to work correctly - this is one reason why this is expensive. So it gets 5 stars because not only did it entirely eliminate the GPU noise, but the big improvement in the noise floor seems to have given the valve/tube amp a bit more room to breathe, as I noticed a subtle improvement in the attack of synthesizer sounds. Your mileage will vary here obviously, such as how well trained your ears are, what gear you're using and what audio format you're using.
Review: Perfect for USB Interference Through Audio Interface - I've been suffering for ages with a disgusting digital hissing sound through my new monitors that was made even worse whenever I moved my mouse or played games. Unplugging my interface totally got rid of the noise so I looked around and found this and took a punt and it payed off massively. This has totally got rid of *ALL* USB Interference, does exactly what it says with no messing about, just plug it in between the interface and the PC and that's it. It's working immediately even without the USB-C power input being plugged in, I'm unsure whether I actually need to still, I'll probably email them to ask a few questions. The HS01 is 20 quid cheaper on a few shops online, and if you're only using one device and don't need the extra input/output I'd probable say get that one instead and save a bit of money.

## Features

- 👍 Fully Isolated Design ▶️ The HS02 has a fully isolated design, which does not introduce new interference when the auxiliary power supply is used while the audio signal is isolated from ground loop interference. Say goodbye to the ground loop and hum.
- 👍 Switching between two interfaces ▶️ The HS02 has two input interfaces (including a USB-B and a Type-C) and two output interfaces (including a USB-A and a Type-C), either of which can be selected by an input switch or an output switch. Note: Input is used to connect to the computer, output is used to connect to USB devices.
- 👍 High speed is also highly compatible ▶️ HS02 supports automatic identification of USB2.0 transmission at low speed, full speed, and high speed. The powerful transmission capability is compatible with high resolution audio such as PCM32bit/768kHz and DSD512 Native.
- 👍 Ultra Low Latency ▶️ The Latency is only 0.073us, which fully meets hifi and professional applications' needs.
- 👍Effectively eliminate the noise introduced by the ground loop ▶️ The noise can be reduced by up to 50dB in real world measurement.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ It does work
*by J***O on 20 January 2025*

Like another reviewer, I'm a musician and using an iPad for live audio output of software instruments. I may sometimes need to go into a PA using balanced MIC level signals, and I bought a USB DI Box (the cheapest there is) for this. That device was so bad it picked up electrical noise introduced up from a USB power bank into the iPad (via a USB-C hub with PD) such that when I loaded different apps on the iPad etc, as the colour of the screen pixels changed etc, I could hear this through the audio output very prominently. That device was pretty noisy and awful so I was curious to see if this HS02 would fix the issue since it was noise coming down the USB cable not from a ground loop with the mains supply as the DI was ground lifted to be sure. The HS02 irradiated all the aforementioned noise of GPU activity of the iPad. That other device was so bad it will be returned but it was a great test bed awful DAC to really hear the HS02 fix things. When running with a different audio interface that worked well too it was harder to tell by ear if the HS02 was fixing the digital side of the signal. I did at one point think that highly modulated sounds such a Leslie simulation over B3 organ at higher registers sounded smoother and less harsh/spiky than when not using the HS02 but that might just be wishful thinking. I like the dual input, dual output design. Note that the data lines only are switched so power is sent to the unused device. At least my audio interface's power light stayed on when the output switch was to the port it was not connected to. Having USB-B as one input socket, I'll keep unplugging this when moving my rig and leaving the HS02 always connected and cabled tied to my audio interface as this will be easier to do in the dark and likely wear better than USB-C which is a connector type I don't really trust as manufacturing quality varies too much for it. The metal construction is nice, and the switches don't appear easy to knock. It is quite pricey and should really cost between 1/3 to 1/2 of what it does but having it gives me confidence that if do something like borrow a cheap charger to power my rig one day I won't be hearing noise from that. tl;dr - Some USB audio output devices (DACs) are noisy and this can genuinely make them less so.
