Product description ResQUp is the simple solution for wheelchair users PATENTED TECHNOLOGY The ResQUp is a novel mobility aid, therapeutic exercise tool and fall recovery device. The ResQUp was developed by Al Peraza, Doctor of Physical Therapy (2009, A.T. Still University at ASU) and Certified Ergonomic Assessment Specialist (2007, The Back School of Atlanta). The ResQUp was designed for use by persons who fall or are at risk of falling, and for caregivers who wish to safely assist patients and disabled persons up from the floor to seated or standing position. How to Use the ResQUp There are three different methods to use the ResQUp. Some Upper Body Strength is required to raise yourself 4½ inches up to each of 3 levels. Wheelchair users and people who fall should test themselves to determine which of the three different methods is best for you. Backwards This method has the user back up to the ResQUp and scoot up to each level, placing their hands on the padded handles to lift themselves up to wheelchair level with or without the use of their legs for strength This method requires more upper body strength than the other methods Sideways The user turns to their strongest side and uses their elbows and at least one leg to push themselves up to each level of the ResQUp in turn, and then transfer to wheelchair or seat This method requires some leg strength and less upper body strength than the other methods Forward The user moves forward up each level of the ResQUp, using the padded handles at each stage for maximum stability and balance This requires putting more pressure on the hands, wrists, arms, shoulders, and knees but feels more natural for some users Alway Ready When Needed The ResQUp is an ergonomic system made of three progressive levels that fold into one another for portability and easy setup. Made from durable rotomolded low-density polyethylene, it weighs only 15 lbs yet can support up to 350 lbs! It is easily carried by one person, can be used indoors or out on carpeted or hard surfaces. It works with nearly any wheelchair, bench, or other stable seating. The ResQUp folds into itself for easy transport, is made of strong durable material, weights 15 lbs., supports 350 lbs., and is useful in tight spaces. The ResQUp requires No assembly, No electrical power, and No batteries.
