Review: This stuff is outstanding - I bought a few rolls of the dodgy Chinese lead for my windows and within a day it had a bad reaction to the air like a chemical rection and all of my windows looked right mess I could have cried, but this stuff came to my rescue. You just rub it on and the lead defects disappear and they do not come back quickly. This product relly is amazing and outstanding. I had never heard of it until a window specialist told me about it when I was telling him of my plight. This stuff saved me having to re-lead all of my windows and it saved me a lot of money so the outlay to buy it was nothing in comparison. Thank you very much whoever invented it and thnk you to the seller for selling it on desertcart.
Review: Works well - This was easy to apply and it really seems to have improved the colour of the lead. I wish we'd known to use this earlier - our lead was already discoloured from the wet and I did my best to clean it and add the oil, but it's not as good as it would have been if we'd used this from the start. Not sure how it's going to do long term, or if I'll need to re-apply, but so far it looks better.

## Questions & Answers

**Q: Will this product work on newly installed lead flashing which already has white stains and circles? Thanks**
A: Hi. When I bought this product it was for use on lead flashing on a new-build that was by then about four years old. The flashing by then was VERY badly marked with white staining that had leached from the brickwork/mortar. Before applying the patination oil, I actually used a fine chisel to very gently prize away the thickest crusted calcification on the lead (so as not to damage it). I then used some wire wool to rub down the whole of the lead flashing that I wanted to improve the look of. After that, I applied the oil fairly liberally. I also made sure to give it two or three coats. The transformation was remarkable and it looked like new and stayed that way for two to three years before needing another coat to restore the shine. And note: after applying, the white staining tends not to return. Also note ... if you wire wool the lead first, make sure that you cover any white uvpc window sills/frames that microscopic wire wool filings may land on. If they are left and subsequently get wet and rust you will never get rid of the speckled / freckled effect they can leave on the plastic. I covered any windows at risk and then rinsed them off also with the hose after I'd finished wire wooling.

Hope this helps.

**Q: is it suitable for old lead which was previously painted and now has black oxidization marks.**
A: Hi, I don't know about previously 'painted' lead ... I'm assuming that the paint has been stripped away in this instance. The first time I used the patination oil was on lead that had been in situ for a few years, and that had never been treated before. In places there were several stains caused by salts, etc that had leached from the brickwork (it being a new-build property when I bought it). These had built up so thickly in places that I had to gently use a chisel to get them off (crust-like), without damaging the lead-work. There were other marks too on the lead flashing, so I used some wire wool to give it all a good rub down, before applying at least two coats of the patination oil (NOTE: if you are going to try the wire wool approach, then do make sure that any nearby/or below white upvc window frames are covered over whilst you do it - otherwise microscopic wire particles can land on them which then oxidizes, creating little brown freckles that won't wash off .... I was warned about this so protected nearby window frames, and then hosed the whole area down too, after wire-wooling, for good measure). ANY WAY, the patination oil worked brilliantly, the appearance of the lead flashing was 100% improved and the look lasts for around a year (depending on the degree of exposure to harsh weather elements). basically, I would use this on old lead work, for sure, but it's worth the effort getting it prepped before you apply it. Hope this helps.

**Q: Will this restore colour of lead from light grey to dark grey on roof ?**
A: Yes it will. I treated my roof lead about 5 years ago and it is still a dark grey colour. For best results I scoured the surface of the lead with wire wool and detergent before applying the patination oil.

**Q: Will this stop lead flashing leaking black staining?**
A: I used this oil on new leading 5 years ago and it still looks as good now, as it did when it was was first fitted. I apply it every other year.
