This has made it really lightweight for hiking and travelling , by doing this slight mod to it does not affect its performance in fact the performance of this tripod is really quite sturdy as long as you anchor it down correctly. The way the legs come out as one , no more faffage with clips ect , as long as you operate this tripod correctly ,it's a great bit of kit.. EDIT... After 20 months of use the legs fell apart . The insides are kept together with cheap plastic . Not what I would of expected from siuri. Really poor quality . Now looking at other brands like the vanguard VEO 3GO 235cb .
