Do not do what the user above instructed. This works as a digital switch not a powered switch. Run it from a standard digital pin to ground. digitalRead will come up with a 0 or a 1. Using it with 3.3v and analog input gives you goofy readings and makes the sensor heat-up something awful. **Q: Will this work with the JBJ ato controller?** A: It should work fine. I am using it in a generic ato. **Q: Can this be used with potable water ? Is it food grade?** A: Yes, it is completely sealed in plastic. I see no reason for it not to be safe for potable water. I am using it to monitor RO water levels in a storage tank I drink from. **Q: Can you suggest a relay to use with these floats to run a 12v/5A water pump?** A: I use the twtade ssr-40 and it works great and has an attachment heatsink to prevent overheating. It can handle up to 60VDC @40a. I only have mine opening a 12VDC solenoid for my custom incubator but I'm sure it can handle a water pump. They are easy to solder wires to and connect to an aquarium controller and I have never had one give me a false reading. These have saved me from having problems with my aquarium many times ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Completely sealed but gets stuck on its own *by T***K on August 10, 2023* I decided to test it in my sump basin after a few months and high water was unable to move the float because it was somehow stuck, however it not obstructed. I cut up a piece of pipe insulation and glued it around the float to give it more buoyancy and hopefully help it get unstuck on its own. It must be the material that it's made of that is causing this. Original review: Unlike other ones that I've bought and returned, the magnet on these is not exposed on the inside of the doughnut that will cause it to rust.
