It does leak if you don't help it seal. All of these bottles leak if you don't drip it after putting it up. This creates the seal and prevents leaking! So you fill it, put it up in the cage and then tap the ball a few times and it will seal! Then it won't leak at all. I wait until I see a good few bubbles go up and I know it is good. Personally, I would not recommend this. The bottle leaked out its entire contents and soaked my guinea pig cage. Bought this for my two rabbits for us to go out of the country for a couple of days thank God we had someone coming over to check on our dogs because this thing leaks like a sieve! I couldn’t figure out why the bottom of our bunny cage was saturated. I thought that my rabbits had a UTI that kept peeing on the mat come to find out.
