Having said that, the sticky side sticks very well right where you stick it and the cushion stays put for years (which is good, but be aware that you only get one chance to place it correctly) and the felt side is appropriately wide and cushy. For me, at least, these pads make the shoe fit better in front, which causes my heel to fit a little further back and sit in the heel of the shoe the way it is supposed to. Heel pads may make the heel stop slipping, but they do not improve the fit of the shoe as a whole, whereas these do. They seem to be especially helpful in men's dress shoes. (N.B.: I've only used these with men's tie shoes, not loafers, slip-ons or women's shoes). The manufacturer could make it a little easier to get the paper covering off the sticky side; that's a pain. Take a cue from Band-Aid, already. But the product still gets 5 stars because it works so well.
