Can be used to measure the temperature of a person, or simply switch the mode to measure room and surface temperature. Simply hold the sensor 3cm away from the surface, press scan and the reading will be given within just 1 second. This means that the thermometer can be used to take the temperature of a sleeping child without having to disturb them, in a far more hygienic manner than more traditional thermometers. The in-built fever alarm will alert you to a temperature of over 37.5 degrees C. The 25 user memory allows you to monitor your child's progress. Readings can be taken in either Celcius or Fahrenheight dependent upon user preference and the device will automatically switch off in order to preserve the battery. Battery operated and easy to use, this compact thermometer makes monitoring the health of your child a much smoother process. Directions Forehead mode is the default mode. In this mode, you can hold the thermometer 1 to 3 cm from the central forehead and press the "Scan" button. While scanning, you will hear a beep sound, which indicates the newest measurement is taking place. The time for measurement is approximately 1 second. Points for attention: a. Simply turn it on, point it at the forehead, press the scan button and you have an accurate temperature measurement a second later. It even beeps an alarm if it detects a fever. No need for disposable covers or sterilization after use.I am unlikely to use the other functions, such as detecting baby's bath or milk temperature and room temperature and cannot comment of their effectiveness. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Good Buy *by J***C on 29 March 2015* This is a good little non contact thermometer. At an ok price. It a very diddy so can be taken with you easily on travels. Helpful when the little one is poorly and doesn't want to be touched. I am not sure how accurate it is but it seems to do the job. And testing my normal temp against an actual fever it gets it right. If the child has a sniffly nose though it may be inaccurate and we are better of using an ear or under arm thermometer test.
