The shaft has an adjustment at the top, but if you tighten it, it makes the middle of the shaft pucker out. That said, these boots are true-to-size...I wear an 8.5M in most boots, and an 8.5M fit me fine in these. They are lightweight and comfortable boots. Even though the shaft is flexible, they did not slouch on me.
