I had to use some slip solution plus my heat gun. So my advice to anyone trying it themselves make sure you have the patience and the tools to get the job done overall it's pretty good quality ppf. The biggest thing is proper installation and not to use well water or city water, because as the water evaporates it will leave mineral deposits behind that will/can show through the wrap depending on what you are wrapping. I personally used distilled water and a drop of Dawn dish soap in a spray bottle and had great results with no air bubbles. The installation was much easier when both the surface being wrapped and the clear film are sprayed down. I make sure my hands are washed and whatever I’m wrapping is prepped and clean. and I wash and wipe off with automotive grade wax/grease remover, let it air dry then install the wrap and make sure your install environment is clean. Again I used this to wrap my King shocks and shock reservoirs. My shocks alone are $6,800. After ONE YEAR, the clear film is still mint and my shocks were polished before applying the clear film and they still look the same. It makes cleaning my suspension much easier. I’ve also used this wrap on my headlights without issue and installed it on our suv driver kick panel which eliminated marks from shoes. After a year I haven’t had any up damage or discolor. Depending on the vehicle make it may be easy to do with tape or you may need paper. I usually make a template and then trace it onto the film and then cut it out. Too many curves in the light makes tape the better option and I use making tape like painters tape. Not very many curves and a paper traced template might work the best. When I have done lights I only do the face of the light. Making a template takes a while especially if it's your first time but there is zero chance of cutting, scoring or scratching the light in the process. For me it works the best and yes the first time it took a while for me to cut a template. I went through a few pieces of paper. The tape way uses a lot of tape but can be the easiest versus trying to get paper to lay flat enough to get a template traced and cut. I'm in a body shop so I have plenty of tape on hand at all times and has never taken even a quarter of a roll. I use the tape by laying it over the face of the light and then taking it all off in one piece and then that becomes my template. Yes it takes a lot of pieces to do curves but by far for me is the easiest way to do it in a lot of cases especially with how curvy the lights can get. It is 12" wide and I would make a pattern to ensure coverage. Yes there will be bubbles, but they are suppose to diffuse. In my 1 month experience, the bubbles are small and hard to see. **Q: how many rolls are enough to cover the full car (Kia Forte 2018)?** A: Bought 1 roll of 12 by 72 and had enough to cover the bottom portion of the 4 doors in Nissan Altima **Q: After an installation , can it be removed and how after a period of time ?** A: Not easy. Expensive to have removed if you can find someone to remove it. Several shops said they would not touch it. Left at one shop to pick up following day. 5 days later it was ready. Did a good job but do not know if they would do it again. We tried hot gun, BUT would have taken us a month at the earliest. I used this PPF to wrap the front end edge of my hood and part of my front bumper. The adhesion is good, but it is definitely a bit tricky to work with. I had trouble stretching the film around contours in the bumper, and I think there is a reason that most of the install Youtube videos feature installation on flat surfaces. There are some residual bubbles under the film that I am hoping work out over the next few weeks. Value for the money is good, but if you're new like my you will probably waste a roll or two. I chalk that up to being the cost of learning a new skill. I liked the XPEL film that I used on the back of the car more.
