This particular umbrella has a rounded handle rather than the "ergonomic" handles on other umbrellas, but it is still comfortable to hold as it is small and covered with rubber. I like it as it means less space taken!Once you press the button it shoots forwards and opens up! To close it just press the button again and it will close up, but it won't de-extend, you have to push it back down manually as all of these windproof umbrellas I have seen lately. Another point to make is that it is quite hard to push it back to its minimal length (again like the other umbrellas) and some people, including children would really find it difficult. It may be a good idea to just push it against a wall to de-extend it.In terms of windproof capabilities it does do well against light-moderate winds but I have yet to test in more severe winds- so hopefully it doesn't invert as that is very annoying when it happens with cheaper umbrellas.Overall a well built umbrella that's a nice size and not that heavy at all. ### ⭐⭐⭐ Good for rain *by F***D on Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 8 February 2016* Umbrellas are quite cheap nowadays, this one seems to be a superior quality. The mechanism Is quite strong. I found it quite hard to close without pushing down on the half closed umbrella Perhaps that is due to my age, and it may get easier with use. We took it out as soon as we received it as it was raining and windy. Unfortunately within a few yards of leaving our property it tried to blow itself inside out. After a few try's we had to give up. We were unable to use it in the wind. Whether this was because of the wind speed or a faulty one I do not know. Very strong spring that puts it up quickly and keeps it taut in use. Compact size so fits well in my (quite large) coat pocket. But still a good diameter to keep the rain off.Update: Bought in Oct 2016. Has not been used much but one of the metal arms has come out. Good for poking eyes out when walking past people on the pavement. I will try and fix it with needle and thread.
