Not for everyone, but I love them! *by H***G on Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 11 August 2016* I bought these as I thought I needed a gimmick to kickstart myself back into doing some exercise, and surprisingly it worked! I was a little concerned about running without cushioned running shoes, especially as I have fairly flat feet and have always seemed to twist my ankles easily.I am about to complete a couch to 5k training program (with the zombies run app, also highly recommended!), and I think that helped me avoid the issues I was worried about with these shoes, as the training program slowly increases allowing your running style and muscles to develop to a barefoot running style without pushing it too quickly resulting in injuries.I felt a little ankle tenderness in the second week or so of running, and ordered ankle supports as a precaution, but the twinges had gone before they arrived (through amazon prime!) and actually now that I am running 5km in them 3 times a week I can say that my ankles have never felt stronger. I feel like slowly training in these shoes has actually strengthened the joints rather than wearing shoes with ankle support that do nothing to actually improve the situation. (Disclaimer: I am not a doctor, these are just my personal feelings about running in these shoes!).These are definitely not for everyone but personally I love them. True barefoot feel. Ordered usual size; fine with no socks, but could be tight on the big toe with socks (I’ll find out when my toe socks arrive). Expect strange looks and people asking what they are but also extreme comfort. The EU size is close but the UK and US sizes given are nonsense. I'm a UK 6.5, who usually wears size 7s for everyday use, (size 7 is EU 41). On the box, it says EU 41 UK 8-8.5, which is nonsense. For me, the EU 41 Vibrams are a snug fit, and I think that's how they're supposed to feel, but my toes feel very jammed in. A 42 might be more comfortable. I'd go by the EU size and go up a bit for the best chance of them fitting.I quite like them. I used them for Taichi last night. The grip wasn't great on the smooth floor, but other than that they were great. The one thing I hate is that stupid elasticated lace system with the lump of plastic flapping about at the end. It means I can't use these for padwork (ever tried a roundkick with a lump of plastic on top of your foot?) Silly design. I may need to try proper laces if I can find any thin enough.EDit - I'm not sure that I'd want to run far in these. The toes are fairly snug and after having them on for nearly two hours this week, doing taichi and then kungfu, my feet started to swell and the toes became VERY uncomfortable at that point. I wouldn't like that if I was doing a long run.
