Then set an "if" scenario and you should be good to go. **Q: why is there such a stark difference in battery life between water sensor 1 vs 2? version 1 is up to 5 years while version 2 only up to 2 years** A: Water Leak Sensor 2 has a sounder. You can optionally turn off the sounder, but since that draws current from the batteries, it is factored into the battery calculations we used. We tend to lean towards the more worse-case scenario (more frequent use, with sounder enabled) but your experience with it will vary and it could very well be closer to 4 years than 2.
