It can hold keys, my small Iphone, small wallet, lipstick, pack of tissue and a pair of very thin reading glasses. I bought it for casual use. The interior center zippered pocket is small and doesn't connect to the interior bottom of the purse, which means you can put variable-sized larger items into the remaining space. That inner zippered compartment is more for change, lipsticks, that sort of thing. I purchased a small coin purse/id credit card holder/paper money holder to drop into the main body, there is also ample room for my typical things: glasses, small notebook, mints, gum, etc. Our 27 yr old daughter was wild for this purse as well - it is classic and gorgeous and rich. I looked for over a year to replace my existing cross-body - this is the ticket! Delighted!
