## Description

PremiumCraft Carnauba Wax is a rock hard, natural, non-animal based wax known as the queen of waxes. It can produce a high gloss, protective finish. Our highest quality T1 grade, carnauba wax is 100% pure and all natural. The melting point of carnauba wax is between 176F and 185F (80-85C). This bar of wax is rock hard, brittle, highest purity, solid, carnauba wax and is best used for rotary polishing wheels. It will not smear or rub onto your project like polishing paste and is not recommended for use with hand polishing applications. Comes in a 2.8 oz bar, measuring approximately 6.69 cubic inches (3.1"x1.8"x1.2"). Ingredients: Carnauba Wax.

Review: It's exactly what it should be - It's pure carnauba wax, plain and simple. People putting bad reviews here about how it doesn't apply as easily as beeswax are just uneducated. It's supposed to be extremely hard and have a high melting point. That's exactly what makes it a better wax finish for gloss and protection than beeswax or any carnauba blend. The fact that it's harder to apply is par for the course, not some failing of the product. I apply directly on the lathe over melamine lacquer for projects where I want a durable glossy finish, but don't want to use CA. Expect to need plenty of friction and heat to get it to melt enough to apply, and then again to buff it out with a shop towel. This bar isn't very big, and $17 seems like a lot for the quantity. But it represents literally hundreds of pens worth of finish. I'll probably still be using this same bar in a decade.

## Questions & Answers

**Q: could I melt this and fill it in a hole and let it harden?**
A: yea it’s is the closest thing to an all natural epoxy besides many applications of a drying oil which would form an even harder matrix.  A polymer like a well cured drying oil [natural] or epoxy [synthetic] will always be more durable for that type application.  Think of many layers of well cured oil based paint versus extremely hard natural wax such as carnauba.  The 25 layers [or whatever hehe] of polymerized oil based is gonna last a lot longer than the hole filled with wax.

**Q: Will this work to polish a knife?**
A: Carnuba is not a polishing compound but a finish protectant. Look for “polishing compound” for whatever type of metal you have. I don’t think you would want to wax a knife.

**Q: Is this food safe? 

I’d like to wax the underside of my glass pan lids (as anti-fog while cooking) but I want to use a food safe product.**
A: This product is 100% carnauba wax. It’s commonly used as an ingredient in the food and drug industry. We don’t expressly recommend using ours as a food additive for liability purposes however our products are made to industry standards using the highest quality raw materials.
