Adds a little cushion to the seat now that we had to remove the padding that came with the baby seat that cradled and secured infants, so that was a plus. It also protects the seat from stains and damage as pretty soon they will be eating real food and making a mess, but currently all we have to worry about is slobber and throw up which tends to happen. The material is soft and sturdy and the design looks good, no complaints here.
