The 3rd link in my source list below is the page for standard woven Velcro (there are also fancier versions - see link/source (4) for example). It had a link to a 3-page pdf document ("product information guide") that is a kind of spec sheet rating all of the different products. The different measures that they specify are explained on the web page that is (5) in my list. The one you care about for your application is shear strength.The 1st product in their list ("Hook 65 and Loop 1000") is rated at 13.0 PSI. I converted that to metric units and I got 914 grams per square centimeter. Bottom line: the Velcro should be more than adequate for what you want to do. This assumes that the Velcro is the weakest link in the chain, so to speak - that the adhesive or whatever you use to attach the two sides to the metronome and the wall are stronger than the Velcro.My practical experience: I've used Velcro for all kind of things and I would say that 300 grams is nothing for a reasonable sized patch (say a square inch) piece of Velcro.
