It usually depends on the size of the kit. Large diamond paintings such as a 12x16 usually come with two tools, one that has the single with the other side having one that holds 3 and a second tool that has one that holds either 6 or 8. If this is the case, it will come with larger sizes sticky glue pad for the tools and it usually comes with a white plastic container that is designed to help you pick up the 6-8 diamonds at a time. **Q: does it come with gems and tools?** A: Yes, hence it being called a diamond painting kit. It comes with everything that you need to complete the diamond painting. However depending on the space you plan to work on this diamond painting, you may want to invest in a board like a light board or something that you can tape your painting to while you work on it so that you can easily put it away somewhere to work on again later. But that isn't a necessity, the kit will come with all the diamonds (usually each color has plenty more than needed to complete), the diamond painting tool and the glue substance that the tool uses to pick up each diamond and place it on the painting. It will also come with a plastic tray to hold diamonds in while you are working on completing it. I'm not completely familiar with this seller so I can't say for sure but some sellers also include small baggies to hold leftover diamonds, different tool attachments that let you pick up more than one diamond and even another plastic container designed to help you pick up 8 diamonds at once.
