Used for mounting a laser level in rooms with different ceiling heights from 2.3m on upwards. It's simpler and more solid then a tripod. Unfortunately I was using it to hang a long barn door rail but I couldn't get the level close enough to the ceiling.I got this as my tripod doesn't go high enough however. the top foot or so won't accept the mount as that's where the sprung part of the pole is. I think it would be better designed to have that at the bottom so you could use the fool hight of the pole. I had to resort to stacking books on the shelf.,Have used this plenty over the last year or so and it's still good. I have sussed if you use it upside down you can get the level right up close to the roof. A bit annoying never worked this out sooner but there you go. Hopefully this helps someone else.
