I noticed the black coming up right away on my gray beard, so I went to wash it out right away. Maybe 6 minutes from application to rinse and it was done. It might be that I have short beard and sideburn. I don't know. I used this product today just moments ago on my beard mustache and my hair I left it on long enough to cover gray as the instructions indicated ..
