Enough space to hold documents flat, very easy to open & close. Took awhile to get the codes in but persevered and went ahead. This is a nice looking unit and fits within the space allotted. Just push the door & hold for a few seconds; automatically locks itself. For the security I was seeking, this is an excellent choice for me. It is heavy enough it would take an effort to get it out of its space and out the door.
