Will this work for that?** A: I was looking for a heavy duty version and bought the 36 x 48" rectangular version based on a couple of the answered questions stating the thickness was 1/8" (about .125") since the seller does not state the thickness. IT IS NOT 1/8" thick. I measured with a fine ruler and it is about 1/16". Since I don't have calipers for a truly accurate measurement and my eye is not perfectly calibrated, the actual thickness is between .060" and .080" which seems to be pretty standard for these mats for hard floors (based on other listings). The seller REALLY needs to list the thickness! As for vinyl planking or flooring, I can't say how well this would work. Depends on how much give the vinyl has.... short answer is it might work fine, but not sure. For hard floors this should work fine. **Q: Is the size 48 inch * 59 inch or 48 cm *59 cm?** A: The size is: 48-inches X 59-inches. We bought two of them for our "his & hers" computer desks and they are both working out great. **Q: Any idea which side goes up or down?** A: The textured side goes up **Q: How long after unrolling will it lay flat?** A: Didn't take long at all. I laid it down and place some heavy books on each corner and left them on over night. Removed in the morning.
