Review: Beautiful and functional - I took a chance on this hand crank ice cream maker when the other one I bought on desertcart, a different brand with a canister that you pre freeze, got a hole in the canister and the super toxic looking liquid in the canister began to spill out. This Immergood was three times the cost so it was quite a leap, especially w/ no reviews yet. So far I am very happy with my purchase. I've made ice cream with it twice now and the ice cream (vegan btw) came out perfect. It takes some preparation and some time but I love knowing that this ice cream maker will easily last my lifetime. All the effort involved is in the prep work. Once that all comes together, the actual cranking is very easy and kind of fun! Clean up afterward is pretty simple. I used the left over ice and salt to clean my kitchen sink garbage disposal and then gave all parts a wupe down w/ a little dish soap and water. No waste, no more toxic goo. Review: Keeping our family's July 4th tradition - Hand crank ice cream makers are getting hard to come by, but we have the old "don't crank, don't eat" tradition on July 4th! The last three ice cream makers have only lasted three years at most, ( and that's only being used once a year!!) due to having plastic parts - particularly where the dasher fits into the gear frame. They round out and will no longer turn the dasher, and are not replaceable! The wooden buckets from these old imports are now in use as expensive planters!! This Amish, made in the USA model has stainless steel parts, which are replaceable if necessary. I balked at the price initially, but took a deep breath, and ordered it. We have named it The Family Heirloom! Used it for the first time this 4th of July, and decided it's worth every bit of the price. Easy to use, and the ice cream has a better texture. It is so obviously better quality than the older ones, that there is really no comparison. Bought this because of childhood nostalgia. I ordered the crank model for that reason. Then I was like oh goodness. Was going to order the electric one too glad I didn’t. This is soooo much fun.
