At 40% reflectance, it makes a great beam splitter for making optics demonstrations, and it laser cuts beautifully into useful thin shims that can be fitted into 3D printed mounts for optics and sensors that have very tight space requirements. This is a must have item for use in any physics lab, optics course, or optoelectronics course. Just add transfer tape onto the surface before laser cutting and we used the same settings for cutting 2mm acrylic sheets to cut this mirror. Great value for money. Anybody with access to laser cutters that can cut 2mm thick acrylic can use this to make all sorts of neat lab demonstrations and lab equipment. (Maybe even make your own game of Khet). Currently being used to test photodiode based sensors. The material is brittle at 1mm thick, so if it is cut into thin shims it can easily snap if you push too hard on it, and it is possible to scrape the surfaces really easily, so 3D prints should include gaps that prevent scraping of these optical surfaces during insertion into your project.
