The citation bar is 1-3/4 inch long x 5/16 inches high, with double, extra-long, lapel pin posts. Each post is extended in length in order to ensure that the posts can be secured properly on a leather citation bar badge holder. The posts are long enough to clear the width of the leather and then have enough length for a lapel pin back to grasp the post. Exact Specifications and Sizing: Soft Enamel process, 1-3/4" Wide x 5/16" High Law Enforcement adopted the military commendation medal concept of ribbons that signified a medal and were more manageable for everyday wear. Some departments still wear the commendations over the right breast, very much like the military. Other departments decided to have all of the awards on the left breast, in a leather citation bar holder.
