I've been getting therapy in my PT sessions but thought I'd try one for home. For me all I wanted was a standard stream of shock therapy at a good pulse strength. The pluses: small but surprisingly powerful. A variety of pulse types and capability to put four pads on at once. The negatives for me : I would prefer a steady shock rate but instead it pulses, basically all the settings are a pulse type. Not too big of a deal having it gap but would prefer it not. The other thing is the strength on level 2 is too light for me so I moved to level 3 but it jumped a greater amount than 1 to 2, needing a level between 2 and 3 that is in the middle. Maybe they all aren't like that but mine is so my choices are barely there or making my muscles jump which I don't like that feeling personally. The reason for 4 stars and not 5. I have a tens 7000 and got this for the rechargeable battery. There is no Normal mode on this. Each mode is a minor variation on low intensity ramping to high then pause and repeat. Adjusting the power is a lot of clicking! And some times it's too low but just one click and it's too high, there's no in between. I have no idea why this has such high reviews. If you are using the old product then you will need a 2mm lead wire. If you are using the 4th generation then you will need to purchase a 2.35mm lead wire. Also the AUVON lead wire is only suitable for electrode pads with a 2mm pin connector, is it not compatible with the snap-on pads. I had a work injury on my back a few yrs ago and every now and then it acts up nothing helped red light therapy, creams, patches (even prescribed) meds helps except for this!
